We care about animals and recognize that the palm oil industry has had a direct impact on wild orangutan habitat. The companies that supply goods to The Cruelty Free Shop that contain palm oil have given us assurance to our satisfaction that they are sourcing palm oil in the smallest quantities possible and are doing so from sustainable plantations. Where possible, we will provide palm-free alternatives for our products.
Bargain past 'best by' and 'use by' foods.
In keeping with our policies on conservation we offer you goods that are past 'best by' or 'use by' at heavily reduced prices. Please rest assured that all these goods are safe to consume and have suffered no loss in flavour. These imported goods meet strict guidelines in their countries of origin that require them to date goods much earlier than a true 'best by' or 'use by'. This is to ensure customer safety. Many supermarkets throw millions of dollars worth of food away every year rather than sell it after it's date has expired. We believe that foods that are still able to be safely consumed and enjoyed should be made available to the public for purchase. So go ahead, grab a bargain and enjoy your favourite foods at a discount. These bargain goods will be made available online and also instore. Animal Charity Donations
A portion of every purchase is donated to one of the animal welfare charities listed on this site. You pay no additional fees. Each month we add up all the donations and bank them direct. A summary of all donations will be posted on the site.

We are happy to exchange items purchased for an alternate size or colour as long as they have not been worn, used, or opened. Please contact us directly if you would like to do an exchange. Due to the limited nature of sale products, we cannot provide exchanges for items sold as specials.
If you received damaged or faulty goods, we will happily provide you with a full refund. However we are not obliged to refund items if you have changed your mind about a particular purchase. We do not refund items sold as specials.
